This gravel is slightly chalky so it is perfect if you keep fish which prefer harder water. It also helps to maintain correct p H levels if the water in your area is softer than you require. It is not recommended if you need soft low-calcium water unless constant monitoring of the level of water hardness is possible. Instructions Rinse until the water runs clear before adding the gravel to the aquarium.
